There are two ways to put a new font on GIMP; both are relatively straightforward.

Note that, if you use this method, the new fonts will be placed in the same folder with the default Windows fonts and it might be difficult for you to find specific fonts.
After you install the fonts or point GIMP to their folder, you must test to see if GIMP actually loads them.
A Windows installer with a collection of extensions for GIMP that provides the ability to choose which Plug-ins, Scripts, Brushes, etc, that you want to install.
